SST admits students through the Direct School Admission (DSA) process. There are 4 stages in total.
Stage 1: Application
Candidates can apply online on http://www.sst.edu.sg/dsaapplication2010 from 10 April to 2 July 2010.
All candidates have to register for a placement test on either 29 May, 25 June, 26 June or 2 July 2010.
Stage 2: Selection
Only shortlisted candidates will be informed to attend a selection camp on either 24 or 31 July 2010.
All candidates will be notified of the results of their applications officially by 31 August 2010.
Stage 3: Exercise School Preference
Candidates who have been given a Confirmed Offer, or put on the Waiting List will receive an Exercise School Preference Form from their primary schools in late October. With a Personal Identification Number (PIN), they can go online to indicate their preference for SST (7805).

Stage 4: Release of PSLE Results
Candidates who have exercised their preferences will receive their DSA results with PSLE results in late November.
**: Successful candidates will be informed to report at SST the following working day for registration.

SST admits all our students through the Direct School Admission (DSA) exercise. Applicants who are successful in the DSA exercise will not have to participate in the Secondary One Posting Exercise.
All interested applicants must first apply to the school via an online application form and then sit for a placement test. Applicants who are shortlisted based will then attend a selection camp. Applicants are evaluated based on academic and cognitive ability, aptitude for applied learning and interests and motivation. The table below shows the key dates for your reference.
Selection Criteria
The selection of students for enrolment into the SST is through the Direct School Admission (DSA) route. Students will be selected based on the following criteria:
1. Academic and Cognitive Ability
All candidates will not only have to submit results of their school-based assessments when they apply to SST, but also sit for a placement test. This is to assess their ability to cope with the academic rigour of the curriculum.
2. Aptitude for Applied Learning
SST aims to engage her students through the head, the heart and the hands. Shortlisted candidates will thus have to sit for a selection camp and be assessed in terms of their ability to work in teams to solve a problem.
3. Interests and Motivation
Students’ dispositions and motivation level may be gauged through: CCA involvement, student portfolio, teacher’s recommendation, personal statement and face-to-face or video interviews. Students who have done well in competitions such as Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award, Singapore Youth Science Festival Science Fair, National Junior Robotics Competition and Sony Creative Science Award will be considered favourably.
